Play werewolf online with friends
Your friends are scattered all over the place, but you are in the mood for a good game of werewolf? Here are the three ways to play werewolf remotely, and why we built our own.
Option 1: on Discord, with a game master
This is the historical method. One player is the game master: they deal the roles by private message, then run the night by writing to each role. It works, but the game master does not play, the night is slow, and one dealing mistake can ruin the game.
Option 2: on a video call (Zoom, Meet, Teams)
You get the atmosphere of the table back… but “close your eyes” does not mean much behind a webcam. There is no way to check that nobody is peeking, and the night roles (Robber, Troublemaker) are almost impossible to handle.
Option 3: an online werewolf with built-in voice
That is what Loup-Garou Sans Carte offers: the server deals the roles, a narrator wakes each role and applies the powers, and the debate happens over built-in voice chat. Nobody can cheat, everyone plays, and a game starts in seconds.

- Can you play werewolf on Zoom, Teams or Meet?
- It is possible but tedious: you have to ask everyone to close their eyes… without being able to check. A dedicated online game prevents cheating: nobody sees what they should not see.
- Do I need a webcam?
- No, a microphone is enough. Your animated avatar talks when you do.
- Do my friends need an account?
- Yes, a quick sign-in (Google or email) is needed to keep your character, your progress and your cards.
